This page explains what data we collect through the guest application form, how we use it, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
Application fields
The guest application form at Be a guest asks for: full name, email address, company name, a one-sentence description of what the company does, your origin or first-gen context, company stage, and written answers to three story questions.
We also ask for a LinkedIn profile or website, topics you do not want discussed on tape, and how you heard about the show. Only the LinkedIn/website field is required alongside the story answers; the “do not discuss” and “how did you hear” fields are optional.
How we use it
Filtering and production
We use the information to decide whether a story is a fit for the show. Most applications are declined. If yours is a fit, we use the contact details to schedule a 20-minute Google Meet hold (14 minutes recorded).
The origin context, constraint, and decision answers help us shape the interview. Anything marked “do not discuss on tape” is kept out of the published episode.
We do not sell applicant data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except the service providers needed to run the form and store submissions.
Where it lives
Storage and security
Submissions are stored in our backend database, hosted by Lovable Cloud, which runs on Supabase infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by the platform.
Access is limited to the show’s production team. We do not expose the raw application table to the public or to analytics tools.
Your rights
Retention and deletion
We keep applications for as long as needed to evaluate, produce, and reference episodes. If you would like your submission deleted or corrected, email us and we will remove it from the active database within a reasonable time.
The show is based in New York. If you are outside the United States, submitting the form means you understand your data will be transferred to and processed in the US.
Cookies
No tracking cookies
The public hub does not use analytics cookies, ad trackers, or third-party scripts that fingerprint visitors. The application form stores your submission only after you click “Apply for an interview.”
